All fired up with Solar Energy

In late January 2008, we were proud to install a grid connect solar system and an Apricus solar hot water system in the Merimbula Fire Station.

This system was unveiled on Feb 8^th by NSW Fire Brigades assistant commissioner, Mark Brown.

Commissioner Brown said "the NSWFB is committed to making our stations and operations greener and more energy efficient". He also added "Solar hot water systems are now a standard feature in all new fire stations and the Merimbula Fire Stations grid connected solar panels are part of a trial which will enable us to assess the benefits of using solar energy and investigate how it can be incorporated into current and future Fire Stations".
