Primary and secondary schools across Australia will have access to funding for solar panels and rainwater tanks from 15 July 2010, under new funding for the National Solar Schools Program.
Under the National Solar Schools Program, grants of up to $50,000 ($100,000 for multi-campus schools) are awarded to eligible primary and secondary schools to install solar and other renewable power systems, rainwater tanks and a range of energy efficiency measures.

The Green Loans program will be phased out in the coming months and will transition to a new Green Start program, Minister for Climate Change, Energy Efficiency and Water, Senator Penny Wong, announced today.
The announcement follows consideration by the Government of a series of reviews, including the inquiry by Ms Patricia Faulkner AO into the Green Loans program. These reports – the Faulkner Inquiry, Resolution Consulting Services report and the Protiviti Consulting report – have all been publicly released today on the Department’s website and will be tabled in the Senate.

A new Carbon Neutral Program is to be implemented by the Australian Carbon Trust, the Government has today announced.
Minister for Climate Change, Energy Efficiency and Water, Senator Penny Wong, said the Carbon Neutral Program – an initiative of the National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS) – will allow businesses to certify their products, services or operations as carbon neutral.
Businesses will apply to the Carbon Trust for use of the NCOS logo (see below). If they are successful, they will be able to use this logo to market their products and services.
